Software Engineer I (For 2026 Interns Only) (Aerospace)

Location: Plano, Texas, United States; hybrid environment with occasional travel

What you will do

• Assist with the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software components for aerospace applications.
• Debug and troubleshoot software issues and support software quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Write and maintain code documentation and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to follow coding standards and engineering practices.
• Support the integration of software with hardware systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–2+ years of software development experience.
• Basic proficiency in C++, Java, or Python.
• Conceptual understanding of engineering principles, software development practices, and data structures.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and on a computer for extended periods.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Internship or cooperative education experience in software development.
• Exposure to the aerospace and defense industry.
• Knowledge of C, C#, C++, HTML, Java, Python, or Bash.
• Experience with requirements tracking, code reviews, static analysis, repositories, automated builds, or Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and Spiral methodologies.
