Software Engineer Backend Intern (Summer 2027) (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Design and build high-performance, reliable, mission-critical software used to send commands to satellites.
• Develop services that autonomously control satellites, monitor telemetry for anomalies, and provide real-time fleet situational awareness.
• Build core backend and infrastructure components that enable software teams to work faster and more reliably.
• Own features across backend systems and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define software requirements, architectures, and designs.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or an equivalent degree.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience with databases such as Postgres.
• Experience with pub/sub and streaming systems such as RabbitMQ and Flink.
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status is required to comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience building fleet management systems.
