Senior Software Engineer

Location: Brisbane, Queensland, Australia; the role may also be based in Canberra or Queensland

What you will do

• Develop high-quality software in line with relevant standards and processes.
• Contribute to Agile sprint events throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support task decomposition, work estimation, system testing, and technical documentation.
• Perform performance and unit testing as part of the development process.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and technical specialists to deliver software supporting Defence capabilities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and technical excellence across projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in a similar software engineering role.
• Experience with ASP.NET, C#, HTML, JavaScript, Microsoft SQL Server, Transact-SQL, stored procedures, and object-oriented programming.
• Experience with unit testing, Azure DevOps or TFS, Microsoft Visual Studio, and the Microsoft software development and testing stack.
• Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies and developing applications for Defence networks.
• An active NV1 Defence Security Clearance or higher is required. Strong analytical, organisational, prioritisation, and communication skills are also required.
