Senior Associate, Private Markets Fund Accounting (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in Evansville, Indiana; Chicago, Illinois; or Atlanta, Georgia, United States

Salary: $65,000–$115,000 annual base salary for Illinois, plus potential discretionary bonus and/or equity awards.

What you will do

• Perform bank reconciliations and post journal entries for accurate financial records.
• Prepare workpapers covering capital activity, investment transactions, income, and expense accruals.
• Manage distribution waterfall and carried-interest models.
• Calculate management fees and prepare supporting schedules.
• Analyze transaction documentation and assess investment structures, accounting impacts, and accrual requirements.
• Support year-end audits and coordinate with clients, legal counsel, auditors, tax advisors, and internal teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience with general ledgers, workpapers, and financial statement preparation.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and core accounting principles.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong attention to detail, ownership, communication, and deadline-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• CPA or MBA, or progress toward certification.
• Experience with alternative investment funds, including private equity.
• Familiarity with investment partnerships and related accounting concepts.
