Senior Engineer (HDD Backend Test Process)

Location: Onsite at the Korat facility in Thailand. No travel required.

What you will do

• Lead technical problem-solving for complex manufacturing, test, and product quality issues.
• Develop strategies to improve yield, test performance, reliability, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Control backend test process flow and deliver production commitments with high quality.
• Manage build configuration according to BOM, ECN, SOP, and customer-specific restrictions covering heads, media, firmware, and servo code.
• Analyze HDD CERT testing data, identify trends and root causes, and provide yield and test-time assumptions for IE and Production through the FROST system.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering, Design, Firmware, Quality, Operations, and Manufacturing teams to support high-volume production, new product introduction, and technology transitions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Engineering or a related technical field, preferably Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in manufacturing, process, test, product, or quality engineering, including drive test process flow and algorithms.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, test engineering, product quality systems, yield improvement, reliability analysis, and process optimization.
• Expertise in root-cause analysis and problem-solving methods including 8D, DMAIC, Fishbone, 5 Why, and FMEA.
• Experience with statistical analysis, process control, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DOE, and SPC.
• Good command of English and Thai; the role is based onsite in Korat, Thailand.

Nice to have

• Experience in an electronic manufacturing environment.
• Experience with JMP, Minitab, SQL, Python, Power BI, or Tableau.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and mentoring engineers.
