Senior Communications Manager, Policy, Safety & Reputation

What you will do

• Set and execute communications strategies across policy, safety, and reputation initiatives.
• Build proactive communications campaigns, external programs, and events with policy, safety, legal, product, and public affairs teams.
• Track the autonomous vehicle regulatory landscape and translate developments into forward-looking communications strategies.
• Develop media relationships and manage inbound and reactive communications on safety, reputation, and sensitive issues.
• Communicate Zoox’s safety story and framework to external stakeholders while anticipating risks and creating mitigation strategies.
• Provide communications counsel on fast-moving matters and represent communications in cross-functional safety and trust working groups.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in communications or policy communications.
• Deep experience handling safety, regulatory, or reputation-sensitive issues.
• Proven track record managing high-stakes, technical communications, ideally in a heavily regulated industry.
• Experience running proactive policy communications campaigns and managing reactive communications under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical topics to broad audiences.
• Strong executive management, collaboration, attention to detail, and program organization skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in autonomous vehicles, mobility, or emerging technology.
• Familiarity with federal and state autonomous vehicle regulatory environments.
