Manager, Market Expansion and Public Affairs

Location: Chicago, IL, USA; hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week, Monday–Thursday. Travel required 20–30%, particularly during active campus launch periods.

Salary: $95,000–$120,000 per year, plus eligibility for an annual incentive program.

What you will do

• Manage public-facing activities for new campus openings and market expansion initiatives, including timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and stakeholder coordination.
• Plan and execute ribbon cuttings, community events, campus launches, and in-market convenings with institutional leaders, local officials, and community partners.
• Prepare briefing materials, manage event logistics, and coordinate leadership engagement with local stakeholders.
• Build relationships with campus leaders, healthcare organizations, civic groups, elected officials, and other community stakeholders in expansion markets.
• Develop stakeholder communications, policymaker newsletters, briefing documents, one-pagers, event communications, and public affairs content.
• Connect campus expansion activities with hirify.global’s healthcare workforce, policy, advocacy, and community investment narratives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in public affairs, communications, event or project management, government relations, or a related field.
• Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects with multiple workstreams and tight deadlines.
• Strong written communication skills, including experience creating briefing documents, executive talking points, stakeholder correspondence, and public affairs materials.
• Ability to build relationships with government, civic, community, healthcare, and institutional partners.
• Familiarity with project management and communications platforms; comfort using data and metrics for outcome reporting.

• Experience supporting business development, market entry, or expansion initiatives.
• Background in healthcare, higher education, or another mission-driven industry.
• Experience with stakeholder or relationship-management platforms such as Quorum.
