Software Development Engineer, Backend (Python/Kubernetes)

Location: Remote from anywhere in Mexico, with availability to travel to Mexico City for occasional office events

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end delivery and ongoing support of backend projects.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new features, APIs, and services.
• Review peer code and promote standard methodologies for engineering quality.
• Facilitate engineering discussions and collaborate with product, data, infrastructure, and other engineering teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to shared infrastructure and developer productivity.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience with Java, Python, NodeJS, and Go for APIs and services.
• Strong proficiency in Python and willingness to work across the stack.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases, distributed systems, API design, observability, and operational excellence.
• Hands-on AWS experience, including S3, EC2, IAM, and EKS.
• Recognized technical leadership experience, with impact beyond the immediate team.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Spanish; authorization to work in Mexico is required.
