National Investigator, Organized Retail Crime (California Remote)

Location: California Remote; listed location: Calabasas, California. Travel up to 50% is required, including regular travel, evenings, overnight shifts, and weekends as needed.

Salary: $78,100–$117,100 annually, depending on location, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Investigate organized retail crime, external theft, and fraud trends to reduce company exposure.
• Gather intelligence and develop investigative plans using interviews, incident mapping, link analysis, video review, online sourcing, and subject identification.
• Build theft cases for prosecution and restitution recovery.
• Develop partnerships with law enforcement, retailers, ORCA, online buy/sell platforms, and internal corporate, field, legal, retail operations, and supply-chain stakeholders.
• Identify prevention opportunities through case management, trend analysis, report analysis, and post-case reviews.
• Prepare and deliver case updates, proposals, presentations, and other complex information.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, criminal justice, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of retail loss prevention experience, including 2+ years investigating organized retail crime and 2+ years of multi-store retail experience.
• Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI) and Interrogation-Wicklander-Zulawski credentials.
• Knowledge of retail loss prevention, organized retail crime, fraud, internal and external shrink, retail data, analytics, and business intelligence.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work remotely from California, travel regularly, and work flexible evenings, overnight shifts, and weekends as required.

• Experience with link analysis, crime mapping, or spatial mapping.
