Therapy Access Specialist (Contractor) (Medical Insurance)

What you will do

• Verify active health insurance coverage by contacting payer representatives and using payer portals.
• Interpret benefits and submit prior authorizations through platforms such as Availity and NaviNet.
• Contact patients and healthcare providers to obtain documentation and confirm insurance information.
• Enter new patient referrals and document interactions in Salesforce or another CRM according to quality, regulatory, and HIPAA requirements.
• Collaborate with Sales Support Representatives to transfer benefit verification and authorization data accurately.
• Provide telephone, clerical, and other departmental support as assigned.

Requirements

• Must reside in the United States and be authorized to work there on a full-time basis.
• Three to five years of medical insurance experience, preferably with a medical company.
• Experience verifying insurance benefits and eligibility, interpreting health insurance plans, and handling prior authorizations.
• Knowledge of CRM systems, including Salesforce, and payer websites such as NaviNet and Availity.
• Strong computer, organizational, communication, customer service, and attention-to-detail skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.

• General knowledge of the durable medical equipment coverage landscape.
• Bachelor’s degree.
