MedTech Coding Specialist, Patient Access Program (PAP) Operations

Location: Washington, DC, United States of America; home-based work is supported, with potential travel to the company office, meetings, and conferences.

Annual base pay: $42,700–$106,800.

What you will do

• Support Patient Access Solutions clients through coding hotlines and coverage access programs.
• Intake cases and document research and correspondence in the CRM.
• Answer coding, coverage, and reimbursement questions from providers, billing and coding staff, and sales representatives.
• Conduct benefit investigations, prior authorizations, and denied-claim appeals to support patient access.
• Research and interpret payer policies, medical necessity criteria, coding guidelines, and reimbursement requirements.
• Educate physicians, hospitals, patients, and other stakeholders about supported technologies and procedures while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Requirements

• Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of healthcare experience, preferably in a physician practice or facility.
• Required coding certification, such as CPC or CPC-A.
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, and ICD-10-PCS coding systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong communication, analytical, documentation, patient advocacy, and client interaction skills.
