Patent Prosecution Paralegal

Salary: $105,000–$145,000 per year

hirify.global LLP is a law firm with an Intellectual Property team supporting U.S. and international patent prosecution matters.

What you will do

• Prepare and file U.S. patent applications, including utility, continuation, divisional, reissue, and related applications with the USPTO.
• Prepare and file PCT, direct foreign, and related patent prosecution documents.
• Process and report patent office communications, formalities documents, amendments, responses, and issue fee payments.
• Monitor client-specific dockets and manage filing and prosecution deadlines across jurisdictions.
• Communicate with clients, foreign associates, attorneys, and patent professionals about filings, documents, and deadlines.
• Maintain patent records, databases, docketing systems, iManage, client extranets, and related documentation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm or comparable professional services environment.
• Experience supporting U.S., PCT, and/or foreign patent prosecution matters.
• Thorough knowledge of USPTO rules, procedures, and electronic filing systems.
• College degree or equivalent paralegal experience required; a paralegal certificate is preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, project management, and data management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while meeting billable hour requirements and maintaining high-quality client service.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of PCT procedures and foreign patent prosecution practices.
• Paralegal certificate.
