Heart Recovery Software R&D Co-Op (Medical Devices)

Location: Full-time on-site in Halethorpe, Maryland, with the engineering team located in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. The co-op runs from January 11, 2027, through June 25, 2027.

Salary: $23.50–$52.50 per hour

What you will do

• Design and implement embedded software for Class II medical devices.
• Construct and maintain software requirements and interfaces.
• Develop test cases and perform unit and integration testing.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and system integration activities.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary ECMO development team.

Requirements

• Available full time on site from January 11, 2027, through June 25, 2027.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's or master's degree program in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
• Currently in the third year of an undergraduate degree or above, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Experience with at least one programming language, such as C, C++, or Python.
• Permanently authorized to work in the United States without requiring employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, willingness to learn, and reliable teamwork.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with embedded systems, electronics, or data acquisition.
• Experience with regulated industries, quality systems, or medical devices.
• Exposure to Git and issue tracking systems.
