TL;DR
Supervisor, Tank Fabrication, Second Shift (Aerospace): Leading technicians in building barrel and tank assemblies for the Terran R reusable rocket with an accent on machining, roll forming, and vertical and circumferential friction stir welding. Focus on executing aggressive production schedules, maintaining structural assembly quality, directing rigging and crane operations, and improving manufacturing processes.

Location: Long Beach, California, United States. Onsite, second shift Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. PT.

Salary: $118,000–$178,000 USD annually, plus a 10% shift differential and 10 guaranteed overtime hours per week.

hirify.global develops Terran R, a reusable rocket designed to deliver customer payloads to orbit and expand launch capacity.

What you will do

  • Lead technicians building barrel and tank assemblies from raw sheet metal through final structural assembly.
  • Execute production schedules across machining, roll forming, and vertical and circumferential friction stir welding.
  • Establish process standards and maintain quality across fabrication operations.
  • Mentor technicians through feedback, performance reviews, regular one-to-ones, and talent development.
  • Report production progress and blockers to upper management with proposed solutions.
  • Lead hiring initiatives and foster an environment of honesty, transparency, accountability, and inclusion.

Requirements

  • Previous manufacturing leadership experience with a record of executing aggressive production schedules.
  • At least 3 years of experience in machining, roll forming, or friction stir welding operations.
  • At least 3 years of experience with rigging and crane operations, including the ability to act as a lift director.
  • Experience partnering with manufacturing engineering, quality, and production control.
  • Ability to take full ownership of assigned production areas and collaborate across functions.

Nice to have

  • At least 3 years of experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products or Smartsheet.
