Senior Platform Software Engineer (Embedded Linux)

Location: Onsite in Austin, Texas or Warren, Michigan; full-time presence at a designated location is required. Relocation benefits are available for eligible candidates.

What you will do

• Develop embedded software and device drivers for automotive display systems.
• Build Linux features for powering, configuring, and activating display devices and processes.
• Manage requirements, design, implementation, testing, integration, and system-level validation.
• Integrate display software with hardware in collaboration with hardware engineers, system architects, and SoC vendors.
• Optimize performance, memory usage, startup time, and power efficiency for high-performance embedded systems.
• Deliver production-quality software for automotive and other safety-critical applications.

Requirements

• 5+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Experience with Linux-based embedded operating systems, display software, device drivers, and display hardware.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills and understanding of embedded hardware architectures, processors, memory management, and peripherals.
• Knowledge of Ethernet, I2C, SPI, UART, Linux kernel frameworks, DRM/KMS, DMA, V4L2, and device trees.
• Experience deploying commercial embedded systems and performing SoC or display hardware bring-up, validation, and system-level testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or an equivalent field.

Nice to have

• Experience with DisplayPort, HDMI, or MIPI DSI interfaces.
• Experience in automotive or safety-critical software development.
• Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or an equivalent field.
• Familiarity with ARM architectures.
