Senior Aerospace SME – Coding (Aerospace)

Location: Columbia, Maryland, United States. US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI clearance are required.

Salary: $130k–$200k per year.

What you will do

• Develop, integrate, verify, and analyze high-fidelity models and simulations of aerospace and missile systems.
• Perform 3DOF and 6DOF trajectory modeling, estimation, optimization, and prediction.
• Model vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, guidance, navigation, and control systems.
• Develop analytical and numerical methods for assessing advanced and emerging aerospace systems.
• Build software tools for engineering analysis, modeling, simulation, data analysis, and visualization.
• Apply Monte Carlo analysis, uncertainty quantification, and statistical methods to assess system performance and communicate results to government customers and engineering teams.

Requirements

• US citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI clearance.
• Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
• At least 4 years of professional experience, or 2 years with a PhD.
• Experience in aerospace modeling, simulation, analysis, vehicle dynamics, and trajectory analysis.
• Experience developing physics-based numerical models or engineering simulations.
• Scientific or engineering software development experience with Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or similar languages.

Nice to have

• Experience with missile, hypersonic, launch vehicle, spacecraft, or other advanced aerospace systems.
• Experience with high-fidelity 6DOF simulations, guidance and control, trajectory optimization, parameter estimation, or system identification.
• Experience with Bayesian methods, Monte Carlo analysis, uncertainty quantification, or statistical modeling.
• Experience supporting the Missile Defense Agency, Office of Naval Intelligence, Department of Defense, or similar government agencies.
• Technical leadership or subject-matter expertise in aerospace modeling and simulation.
