Staff Test Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Design and execute prototype, qualification, acceptance, and board-level verification tests for power, digital, RF, and mixed-signal electronics.
• Develop test architectures and systems for integrated hardware and software products, including radios, computers, and phased-array antennas.
• Write test software for DUTs and test equipment, improve internal testing tools, and develop data-logging methods and interfaces.
• Create test requirements, hardware test plans, procedures, and design-for-testability guidance for engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, train technicians, support lab buildout, and guide equipment purchasing.
• Evaluate and present test results, prepare engineering design reviews for customers and executives, and contribute to proposal writing.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 9 years of industry or university research experience designing, analyzing, and implementing electronic products or test systems.
• Experience creating and executing test plans for custom board-level electronics.
• Hands-on experience with digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, and vector signal analyzers.
• Programming or scripting experience, such as Python, plus excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be eligible under U.S. Space Technology Export Regulations as a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, conditional resident, asylee, refugee, or other protected individual, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• Board-level hardware design and aerospace industry experience.
• Experience designing automated test racks and conducting EMI/EMC testing.
• Knowledge of RF and mixed-signal hardware, including amplifiers, filters, ADCs/DACs, and antennas.
