Principal Solution Architect (Data Focus)

Location: Hybrid Flex in Durham, United States; at least two days per week in the office. Candidates outside the local area may be considered if located in a state listed on the job posting; onsite expectations are discussed during the interview process.

Salary: $143,616–$229,786 per year, plus annual incentive bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Define enterprise solution strategies, architecture roadmaps, standards, and reference models aligned with business and technology objectives.
• Lead architecture for complex initiatives across business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and delivery organizations.
• Design and govern scalable enterprise data architectures covering data quality, governance, metadata, analytics, compliance, and business requirements.
• Guide architecture decisions across cloud platforms, data and analytics solutions, integrations, APIs, event-driven architectures, databases, and application development.
• Establish architecture governance and security requirements while managing risks, dependencies, performance, reliability, scalability, and resiliency.
• Mentor architects and engineers, support Agile SDLC delivery, evaluate emerging technologies, and communicate trade-offs to executive and technical audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree where required, or 10+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least 8 years of experience in a related field.
• Deep expertise in enterprise data architecture, cloud-native platforms, integration technologies, AI-enabled solutions, and modern software engineering practices.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture, solution design, software development methodologies, and SDLC practices.
• Ability to work in a Hybrid Flex arrangement with at least two office days per week in Durham, subject to role and location requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience developing enterprise technology strategies and leading large-scale architecture initiatives.
• Expertise in two or more areas including data and analytics, cloud, software development, integration, infrastructure, or security architecture.
• Experience governing enterprise-scale data platforms, analytics solutions, and data governance capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with modern integration patterns, APIs, platform engineering, and cloud-native technologies.
• Experience evaluating emerging technologies and delivering AI-enabled business solutions.
