Eng Tech 2 (RF Plasma)

Location: Rochester, New York, United States; onsite laboratory environment.

Salary: $21.73–$36.21 per hour, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Support the design, testing, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems and specialized test equipment.
• Test, troubleshoot, and perform fault isolation on analog, digital, logic, and RF systems.
• Conduct engineering and experimental tests to collect design data and support research activities.
• Perform failure analysis at system, subassembly, and component levels.
• Use oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and other diagnostic equipment.
• Work with Systems and Design Engineering in a laboratory environment while following safety requirements for electrical, high-voltage, gas, water, and heat hazards.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent technician experience.
• At least 1 year of related experience.
• Experience using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other electrical or RF instruments.
• Experience reading schematics and troubleshooting PCBA problems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform extended periods of sitting, standing, typing, and stationary work.
• Some positions may require U.S.-person status for access to ITAR- or EAR-controlled goods and technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience using computers to drive tests or collect data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with LTSpice or other circuit simulation tools.
• PCBA soldering or rework experience.
