Tech Lead (AWS/TypeScript)

What you will do

• Own the technical architecture of the Tetra Apps platform, including application packaging, provisioning, routing, authentication, isolation, observability, upgrades, and retirement.
• Design and evolve container runtimes, app proxy and routing layers, ECS lifecycle management, identity systems, installation, upgrade, and rollback paths.
• Build security into a multi-tenant platform running external code through tenant isolation, delegated authorization, secrets management, browser security, and approval controls.
• Own production readiness through metrics, tracing, SLIs, SLOs, alerting, incident runbooks, capacity planning, cost planning, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Lead developer experience across templates, TypeScript and Python SDKs, CLI tooling, local development, and documentation.
• Run sprint and quarterly planning, lead architecture reviews and RFCs, ship full-stack components, and support field engineers and customers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including technical leadership or architecture of a platform used by external teams.
• Production experience operating multi-tenant application platforms, app hosting runtimes, PaaS products, plugin systems, or internal developer platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, ECS or similar systems, networking, service discovery, scaling, and cost management.
• Strong AWS experience with ECS, ALB/NLB, VPC, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, S3, Lambda, and CloudFormation or equivalent infrastructure-as-code.
• Expert TypeScript/Node.js, solid React, working Python, API-first design with REST and OpenAPI, and observability using OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing.
• Strong security engineering experience covering IAM, least privilege, identity propagation, tenant isolation, browser security, secret management, and untrusted code.

Nice to have

• Module federation, micro-frontend architectures, or app shells.
• Artifact registries, package management, publishing, versioning, and promotion.
• Experience with regulated or validated environments such as GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, or SOC 2.
• Experience operating software in both vendor-hosted multi-tenant and customer-hosted single-tenant deployments.
