Utility Operator

Location: Tampa, Florida, USA; onsite

Salary: $20.72–$27.60 per hour

What you will do

• Operate bottom ash transfer conveyors, ash silos, fly ash transfer screws, pugmills, ferrous magnets, ECS conveyors, and related equipment.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and complete daily operating logs.
• Participate in boiler cleanings and maintain clean, orderly work areas around ash removal and conditioning equipment.
• Perform lockout/tagout procedures to support maintenance activities.
• Complete assigned Operator Qualification Standards and drive mobile equipment, including forklifts.

Requirements

• GED or high school diploma preferred; a fully funded GED program is available to employees.
• Three to six months of related experience or training preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and other manuals.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and other employees.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and work around high temperatures, moving machinery, noise, dust, and outdoor conditions.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including a negative-pressure respirator, climb ladders and structures, tolerate heights, and perform physically demanding movements.
