Production Operator Trainee

Location: Waggaman, Louisiana, United States; onsite with 12-hour rotational shifts, including nights and weekends

What you will do

• Operate valves and instruments to control fluid levels, flows, temperatures, pressures, speeds, and mechanical equipment startups and shutdowns.
• Adjust processes through instrumentation, equipment controls, and chemical additions to maintain operational tolerances.
• Monitor production processes and equipment, investigate unusual mechanical or process conditions, and recommend corrective action.
• Apply PPE, safety procedures, and regulatory protocols while identifying and reporting hazards and incidents.
• Develop competency across assigned operator functions and assist with training less experienced operators.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to accurately follow written procedures and verbal instructions.
• Critical thinking, sound judgment, decision-making, integrity, teamwork, and continuous learning skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment failures and process upsets.
• Must pass pre-employment screening examinations and assessments.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.

Nice to have

• Two years of trade school or college education.
