Director, RF Systems Engineering (Semiconductor)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States. Full-time onsite role with approximately 10% travel; relocation eligible.

Salary: $206,000–$283,500 per year, plus potential bonus and stock awards.

What you will do

• Lead the technical vision, development, integration, qualification, and production transition of RF subsystems, including generators, matching networks, filters, diagnostics, sensors, ICP sources, and power distribution systems.
• Establish RF technology roadmaps, system requirements, performance targets, design standards, and engineering best practices aligned with product and business objectives.
• Optimize plasma ignition, RF coupling efficiency, process uniformity, chamber-to-chamber matching, and wafer-to-wafer repeatability for semiconductor processes.
• Lead RF system integration across semiconductor processing platforms and resolve complex RF, electrical, and plasma issues using experiments, simulations, and engineering analysis.
• Oversee supplier evaluations and strategic technology partnerships while coordinating hardware-software integration with software engineering teams.
• Lead, mentor, and develop RF engineering talent and present technology strategies and recommendations to executives, customers, and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline with 15+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Alternatively, a master’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or a PhD with 10+ years of experience in semiconductor or related capital equipment development.
• Deep expertise in RF engineering, plasma processing, system-level design, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional engineering programs and providing technical direction to engineering organizations.
