Software Engineer III (Generative AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in Boston, Massachusetts, or Toronto, Ontario, Canada; requires working in the office three times per week and scheduled collaboration at the Boston office up to four times per year. Core hours are 9am–5pm EST.

Annual base salary: USD 159,500–176,000, depending on location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional equity, bonuses, commissions, and benefits may be available.

What you will do

• Build and maintain core systems, APIs, ML infrastructure, and self-service environments powering generative visual experiences.
• Design scalable, resilient microservices that interface with external APIs and internal machine learning models.
• Containerize applications with Docker and manage Kubernetes pods, services, ConfigMaps, and secrets.
• Develop and improve automated content pipelines for structured and unstructured data such as images, text, and video.
• Own technical decisions across multiple system components, prioritize work autonomously, and solve ambiguous engineering problems.
• Collaborate with product management, experience design, analytics, and adjacent engineering teams to deliver measurable impact.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals and experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn.
• Experience with fine-tuning or serving large models, including LLMs or diffusion models, and working with ML service APIs.
• Strong Python skills and understanding of cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience consuming and exposing REST or GraphQL APIs with OAuth, API keys, or JWT authentication.
• Experience with unit and integration testing, CI/CD, production monitoring, and observability through logs, metrics, and tracing.
• Proficiency with React, interactive UI development, frontend state management, and data storage technologies such as GCS, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, or MongoDB.

Nice to have

• Model optimization or quantization, model lifecycle management, and GPU-enabled Kubernetes workloads.
• DevOps experience with Terraform, Helm, or ArgoCD.
• Experience with 3D content pipelines, architectural visualization, games, VFX, or ML-powered interactive tools.
