Data Centre Engineer

Location: Sevenoaks, Kent, with regular attendance at the Maidstone site, United Kingdom

Data centre services are delivered for a client in a secure environment with on-site operational requirements.

What you will do

• Visually inspect customer equipment status indicators, power connections, and cabling.
• Perform power cycles, activate hardware controls, and replace hot-swappable components according to written intervention instructions.
• Connect KVM crash carts to support diagnosis of failed reboots and power cycles.
• Mount media in drives for system builds and diagnosis.
• Test cable paths and verify cabling conforms to performance standards.
• Report equipment status and clarify customer requirements through professional communication.

Requirements

• UK nationality and existing or willingness to undergo SC security clearance are required due to account requirements.
• Regular attendance at both Sevenoaks and Maidstone sites is required; candidates must be able to drive and have their own transport.
• Fluency in English and the local language, including speaking, reading, and writing.
• Basic understanding of IT operations, server hardware, networking, data centre equipment, and media.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and general PC hardware.
• Ability to work accurately, manage customer interactions, and respond flexibly to unexpected situations.

Nice to have

• Data centre operations experience.
• Professional certification or a technical degree.
• Familiarity with relevant structures and processes.
