Summer Intern - Gene Editing Discovery (Gene Editing)

Location: Bridgewater, New Jersey, United States; full-time, in-person presence required

What you will do

• Participate in supervised gene editing experiments, including CRISPR-based knockouts and knock-ins.
• Perform molecular biology workflows and assays such as cloning, Western blot, PCR, and flow cytometry.
• Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and accurate experimental records.
• Analyze and interpret experimental results and contribute to data presentations and team meetings.
• Collaborate with scientists across discovery and bioinformatics teams.
• Present a summary of internship findings at the end of the program.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in a BS, MS, or PhD program in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Bioengineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on coursework or laboratory experience with molecular biology techniques, including PCR or cloning, and cell culture.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret experimental data.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for scientific reporting.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary research environment.
• Familiarity with CRISPR/Cas9, other gene editing platforms, DNA repair mechanisms, or genome biology is preferred.
