Senior Staff Backend Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure (AWS)

Salary: $174,000–$299,000 per year, plus an annual bonus of 0–20%.

What you will do

• Design and architect scalable cloud infrastructure, platform services, and deployment systems.
• Improve reliability, availability, performance, efficiency, and system quality toward 99.999% uptime.
• Build self-service infrastructure and end-to-end application deployment automation.
• Analyze distributed production deployments and optimize infrastructure, networks, machine types, CDN, domains, and cloud security.
• Solve complex technical problems across AWS, Azure, GCP, and private cloud environments.
• Provide technical direction across multiple engineering teams and collaborate on mission-critical projects.

Requirements

• 7+ years of total professional experience and a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in system engineering, Cloud DevOps, Cloud SRE, infrastructure as code, or cloud infrastructure engineering.
• 7+ years of experience leading system design and architecture using AWS or Azure services.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Python or Go, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, Ansible, and cloud integrations.
• Experience building high-performance, highly available, scalable distributed and hybrid-cloud systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
• Advanced AWS architecture or development certification.
