Software Engineer (Python/AI)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States; onsite five days per week

Salary: $170,000–$230,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Design and build Python backend services for real-time AI voice agents, including call orchestration, conversation state, tool execution, and EHR write-back.
• Architect low-latency pipelines connecting telephony, automatic speech recognition, large language models, and text-to-speech.
• Lead integrations with healthcare systems such as Epic, Cerner, and athena for scheduling, eligibility, and intake.
• Drive decisions on APIs, data models, and event-driven workflows while mentoring other engineers.
• Partner with AI, product, and operations teams to ship patient-access features.
• Improve latency, reliability, observability, testing, and release readiness.

Requirements

• 4+ years of backend software engineering experience, primarily with Python.
• Experience designing and shipping production services, APIs, and data models.
• Deep experience with asynchronous, event-driven, or real-time systems.
• Strong fundamentals in testing, LLM evaluation, observability, and reliability.
• Ability to design voice and text assistant interactions with a patient-centered mindset.
• Ability to work onsite in the Mountain View, CA office five days per week.
