Engineering Manager (Trust & Safety)

Location: San Francisco, hybrid

Salary: $264,000–$297,000 annual base salary, plus equity

What you will do

• Lead a team of four engineers working across billing, fraud, and outbound telephony.
• Own delivery for billing, pricing, packaging, fraud, and outbound telephony against a shared roadmap.
• Partner with Product to set priorities, translate requirements into technical plans, and resolve disagreements constructively.
• Strengthen service ownership, on-call coverage, incident response, planning, and delivery practices.
• Coach engineers, manage performance and career development, and define growth goals.
• Contribute through architecture, system design, hands-on coding, and code reviews.

Requirements

• Demonstrated engineering management experience covering coaching, performance, leveling, and career development.
• Experience designing scalable, reliable enterprise systems and leading engineers through complex technical problems.
• Strong hands-on coding, architecture, and system design skills.
• Experience owning reliable services and improving on-call and incident response practices.
• Experience partnering effectively with Product and making clear Engineering decisions.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role based in San Francisco.

• Billing systems experience.
• Experience hiring and building a small engineering team.
• Experience in trust and safety, fraud or risk, voice or telephony, outbound-call compliance, or scaling a newly formed team.
