Project Superintendent

Location: Sterling, Virginia; DC Metro / Northern Virginia region. The role requires daily representation at the project site and authorization to work for any employer in the United States.

Salary: $95,000–$125,000 annually, plus a vehicle allowance and eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Represent the company at the project site and establish expectations for safety, quality, housekeeping, conduct, and site operations.
• Review design and construction documents for constructability, phasing, temporary protection, site logistics, and field construction issues.
• Plan and coordinate site logistics, traffic patterns, equipment, storage, staging, and trade contractor activities.
• Coordinate work plans, progress meetings, construction schedules, permitting, inspections, and the timely completion of trade contracts.
• Interpret construction documents, recommend construction methods and equipment, and ensure compliance with contract specifications.
• Manage quality expectations, submittals, punch lists, installation coordination, and authorization of trade contractor timesheets for extra work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• At least five years of commercial construction experience in a leadership role as a Foreman or Superintendent.
• Training or completed classes in Construction Management, Project Management, Safety, or Communication.
• Ability to plan work, identify safety concerns, and promote a safe culture among employees, partners, and trade contractors.
• Knowledge of construction site requirements, tools, methods, materials, job cost accounting, scheduling, and cost control.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
