Software Engineer II, Sensor Fusion & Autonomy (Aerospace Autonomy)

What you will do

• Design, implement, and integrate perception systems that interpret the external environment, vehicle state, and operator intent.
• Prototype perception solutions, lead trade studies and sensor evaluations, and integrate complex systems into operational vehicles.
• Integrate, calibrate, and optimize sonar, radar, EO/IR, IMU, and environmental sensor suites.
• Build and improve software environments while transitioning vehicle software from prototypes to reliable, certified production avionics.
• Lead on-vehicle and off-vehicle data collection and validate perception software through high-fidelity simulations and live sea trials.
• Support prototype development, production craft validation, testing, certification, and state-estimation work across flight controls, GNC, systems, hydrodynamics, and perception engineering.

Requirements

• Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a directly related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in aviation, aerospace, robotics, automotive, or a related software field.
• At least 1 year of experience with Python and C or C++.
• Experience debugging complex distributed software systems deployed on vehicles and integrating, evaluating, and optimizing multimodal sensors.
• Experience with SLAM, state estimation, publish-subscribe messaging architectures, and autonomy system design.
• Experience with modern computer vision, mapping, semantic labelling, and perception algorithms.
