Staff Machine Learning Engineer (Simulation Realism)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States; on-site/hybrid role

Salary: $251,000–$310,000 USD annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual bonus, equity incentive plan, and company benefits.

What you will do

• Improve the quality and accuracy of labeled data derived from multi-modal sensors.
• Develop ML models that identify and correct issues in perception-based simulation data.
• Analyze data quality, investigate anomalies, and improve data-labeling pipelines.
• Collaborate with perception and simulation teams to define data requirements and quality standards.
• Lead solutions for complex data-quality challenges and define ML strategies for high-fidelity data generation.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of applied Deep Learning/Machine Learning experience for L5, or 7+ years for L6.
• Strong background in computer vision, sensor fusion, or perception.
• Proficiency in Python and common ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience with data analysis, quality assessment, strong coding, and system design.

Nice to have

• PhD in Computer Science or a similar discipline.
• Experience with autonomous vehicle sensor data.
• Familiarity with data-labeling processes and challenges.
• Experience taking ML models from research to production.
