TL;DR
Employee Relations Consultant (Human Resources): Advising managers and employees on workplace policies, conflict resolution, performance management, and compliance across a defined region and business segments with an accent on complex employee relations cases, labor law, and risk mitigation. Focus on documenting case decisions, monitoring workforce trends, supporting audits and grievance procedures, and resolving sensitive workplace issues objectively.
Location: Columbus, Ohio, United States; office-based role. Applicants must be currently authorized to work full time in the United States.

What you will do
- Advise managers and employees on HR policies, conflict resolution, performance management, and workplace issues.
- Resolve moderately complex employee relations cases and document decisions in the case management system.
- Partner with HR Business Partners, Legal, training teams, and managers to support fair and compliant practices.
- Support internal audits, grievance procedures, compliance documentation, and corrective actions.
- Monitor and report employee relations trends and metrics.
- Contribute to HR initiatives and special projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field, or a high school diploma plus seven total years of employee relations or human resources experience.
- At least three years of experience in employee relations or a related HR discipline, including enforcement of federal and state labor, wage, and hour laws.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, relationship-building, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, remain objective, manage conflict, and handle multiple priorities independently.
- Must be authorized to work full time in the United States; immigration sponsorship is not available.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting a large client base.
- Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR.
- Employee relations experience in retail or financial services.
- Experience with human resource information and case management systems.
