Associate, Operations Engineer (Fintech)

Location: New York, United States; hybrid work model with in-office and work-from-home flexibility

Salary: $110,000–$140,000 base salary annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Own and coordinate day-to-day operations for a portfolio of business-critical applications.
• Lead incident resolution, problem management, root cause analysis, production support, and application releases.
• Coordinate Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity testing activities.
• Monitor application health, availability, performance, capacity, alerting, and operational dashboards.
• Identify and implement automation, standardization, documentation, and process improvements.
• Partner with developers, business stakeholders, infrastructure, database, security, and vendor teams to improve reliability and service quality.

Requirements

• 3–4+ years of experience in Application Support, Operations Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or a similar role.
• Experience supporting business-critical applications in financial services and regulated environments.
• Experience with incidents, problems, changes, releases, Disaster Recovery exercises, and production support.
• Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of Oracle databases.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, observability, CI/CD concepts, release management, scripting, and automation.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, troubleshoot complex issues, and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with PowerShell, Python, Shell scripting, Java, APIs, web services, MQ, XFB, or SFTP.
• Experience with Cognos, Power BI, DevOps tooling, cloud platforms, and modern engineering practices.
• Background in Banking, Capital Markets, Treasury, Lending, Payments, Finance, Risk, or Regulatory Reporting.
• Experience interacting with auditors, risk teams, and regulatory stakeholders.
