Client Office Phlebotomist (Phlebotomy): Providing venipuncture, specimen collection and processing, order entry, and patient-facing laboratory support at a Chicago client site with an accent on sample integrity, patient safety, and accurate clinical documentation. Focus on processing specimens, resolving collection and result issues, maintaining laboratory equipment and quality records, and supporting efficient patient care.
Location: Onsite at a client site in the Streeterville neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; rotating weekends may be required.
Salary: USD 19.81–26.74 per hour

What you will do
- Perform venipuncture, phlebotomy and other laboratory specimen collections according to patient-age standards and department protocols.
- Process, label, centrifuge, aliquot, freeze and package specimens while maintaining sample stability and integrity.
- Review physician orders, enter laboratory test orders accurately and verify receipt of test results.
- Provide patient communication and post-phlebotomy care while applying patient-safety practices.
- Monitor refrigerator temperatures and quality records, maintain equipment and report issues through the appropriate channels.
- Perform laboratory reception and clerical duties, including patient information retrieval, inventory management and medical-record system use.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Phlebotomy certification from a nationally recognized organization, training from a phlebotomy school or medical institution, at least one year of healthcare phlebotomy experience, or CMA certification.
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, during the specified daytime schedule.
- Strong patient-service, communication, teamwork, critical-thinking and decision-making skills.
- Ability to follow biohazard, regulatory, quality-control and patient-safety procedures.
- Background check required for newly hired team members.
Nice to have
- Experience collecting specimens from a broad range of patient types.
- Experience processing and transferring specimens and operating a centrifuge.
- Familiarity with medical EMR systems and medical terminology.
