Procedure Technician (GI Endoscopy)

Location: 259 E. Erie, Chicago, Illinois, United States; on-site, full-time day shift

Salary: $22.58–$32.74 per hour

What you will do

• Prepare gastrointestinal endoscopy procedure rooms, equipment, paperwork, and supplies before patient arrival.
• Assist nurses and physicians during examinations and procedures, including specimen collection and patient preparation.
• Escort, lift, support, and discharge patients while applying comfort and safety measures.
• Monitor schedules and coordinate patient flow between waiting, examination, procedure, and recovery areas.
• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopic equipment and department accessories according to protocol.
• Maintain supplies, linens, equipment, work areas, and administrative records, and report malfunctions or other problems.

Requirements

• High school diploma with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Effective medical-professional communication with physicians, nurses, and patients.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, computer, and infection-control knowledge.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Associate or bachelor's degree in life sciences.
• Previous experience in a patient care environment.
• Bilingual language skills or modality experience.
• Completed SGNA Associates Program Part I.
