Patient Care Technician-Telemetry Full-Time Days

Location: 1 Kish Hospital Dr., DeKalb, Illinois, United States; full-time day shift

Salary: $17.05–$23.02 per hour

What you will do

• Perform basic nursing care under the supervision and delegation of an RN.
• Monitor vital signs, measure blood glucose, and record patient intake and output.
• Assist patients with bathing, grooming, eating, and other activities of daily living.
• Report abnormal findings and changes in patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
• Maintain clean, orderly patient rooms and support unit workflow and census activities.
• Communicate with patients, families, nursing staff, and related departments by phone, intercom, and call-light systems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician, or completion of one semester of clinical nursing education.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to organize, multitask, apply critical thinking, and work effectively in stressful situations.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check may be required.

Nice to have

• Phlebotomy experience.
• Graduation from an accredited Nursing Assistant program or phlebotomy course.
