Rehabilitation Nurse Technician (Healthcare)

Location: 26W171 Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton, IL, United States; onsite, full-time night shift

Salary: USD 19.09–23.87 per hour; $4,000 sign-on bonus subject to eligibility rules

What you will do

• Support adults and children with chronic conditions and complex disabilities as part of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation care team.
• Assist with activities of daily living, hygiene, transfers, mobility, therapy readiness, meals, feeding, and use of assistive devices.
• Monitor and document vital signs, pulse oximetry, blood glucose, weights, intake and output, laboratory specimens, and 12-lead EKGs.
• Provide bladder and bowel program support, catheter and ostomy care, skin care, oxygen and tube-feeding preparation, and patient safety monitoring.
• Use de-escalation techniques, respond to call lights, participate in cardiac arrest response and bedside handoff, and maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Participate in quality improvement, data collection, equipment inventory, regulatory readiness, and precepting new employees and nursing students.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Nursing Assistant certification or current enrollment in an RN nursing program with two clinical rotations completed.
• Current CPR certification.
• Basic math skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, peers, and hospital staff.
• 12-lead EKG competency must be completed within six months of employment.
• Flexibility to rotate between units and work in a changing rehabilitation environment.

Nice to have

• 2–5 years of experience in a rehabilitation hospital, acute care hospital, or skilled nursing facility.
