Firmware Development Undergraduate Engineering Co-op

Location: Remote within Canada; candidates must live and work in Canada. Occasional attendance at hirify.global sites may be required based on business needs.

hirify.global develops integrated circuit designs, processors, systems, and custom silicon solutions.

What you will do

• Develop software with direct interfaces to hardware, including microcode, IP-specific firmware, FPGA, and DSP components.
• Design and implement interfaces that abstract low-level hardware details for higher-level software and firmware.
• Participate in design and code reviews.
• Test and validate product implementations.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines and drive technical issues to resolution.

Requirements

• Current undergraduate student in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Knowledge of C programming and system software.
• Strong problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, and collaboration skills.
• General knowledge of embedded systems, digital ASIC design, and software or firmware development and testing methodology.
• Must be able to live and work in Canada; hirify.global immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice to have

• Software development experience in C++, Rust, SystemC, Python, or domain-specific language modeling.
• Understanding of processors, servers, and system software architecture.
• Knowledge of SoC, subsystem, IP, or microarchitecture.
