TL;DR
Medical Assistant-Urology Full Time Days (Urology/Patient Care): Supporting physicians, nurses, and patients in a multi-location urology clinic with an accent on patient flow, clinical procedures, room readiness, and accurate documentation. Focus on performing vital signs, venipuncture, specimen collection, ECGs, CLIA-waived testing, and maintaining safe, efficient exam-room operations.

Location: Onsite in Lake Forest and Glenview, Illinois, with possible travel to Grayslake as needed. Monday and Tuesday in Lake Forest, Wednesday and Thursday in Glenview, and Friday in Lake Forest; 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Salary: $19.13–$25.83 per hour

What you will do

  • Prepare patients for examinations, obtain vital signs, document visit information, and support efficient patient flow.
  • Assist physicians, nurses, and other licensed staff with examinations and urology procedures.
  • Perform delegated procedures including ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, specimen collection, and CLIA-waived testing.
  • Prepare, disinfect, sterilize, stock, and maintain exam rooms, equipment, instruments, medications, and vaccines.
  • Communicate professionally with patients and the care team while safeguarding patient confidentiality.
  • Follow clinic protocols, safety standards, opening and closing procedures, and assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current certification as a medical assistant, or written proof of eligibility to take an approved certification examination; certification must be attained within six months of employment after up to two attempts.
  • American Heart Association-accredited Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
  • Zero to two years of relevant experience and strong computer skills.
  • Ability to work the stated onsite schedule across Lake Forest and Glenview and travel to Grayslake when needed.

Nice to have

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
  • One to two years of ambulatory care experience.
  • Experience with electronic medical records.
