Medical Assistant (Vascular Surgery) (Vascular Surgery): Supporting physicians, nurses, and licensed medical staff in a vascular surgery clinic with an accent on patient flow, clinical procedures, room preparation, and patient communication. Focus on performing ECGs, venipuncture, specimen collection, CLIA-waived testing, and maintaining safe, efficient clinical operations.

Location: McHenry, Illinois, with travel to the Huntley clinic as needed. Onsite, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., 40 hours per week.

Salary: $19.13–$25.83 per hour

What you will do

  • Support physicians, nurses, and licensed medical staff with patient flow and clinical operations.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, obtain vital signs, update medical information, and document visit details.
  • Assist with ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, procedure trays, specimen collection, and CLIA-waived testing.
  • Prepare, disinfect, sterilize, stock, and maintain examination rooms, equipment, instruments, vaccines, and medications.
  • Communicate professionally with patients and care teams while protecting patient confidentiality.
  • Perform delegated procedures related to the vascular surgery specialty and complete assigned administrative duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current certification as a medical assistant, or written proof of eligibility for an approved certification examination.
  • Certification must be attained within six months of employment, after up to two test attempts.
  • American Heart Association-accredited BLS/CPR certification.
  • Zero to two years of relevant experience and strong computer skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in McHenry and travel to Huntley as needed.

Nice to have

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
  • One to two years of ambulatory care experience.
  • Experience with electronic medical records.
