Patient Care Tech (Ortho/Neuro)

What you will do

• Provide clinical and patient-care support under the direction of registered nurses or physicians.
• Collect, label, and transport specimens; obtain 12-lead EKGs; perform bladder scans and point-of-care testing.
• Assist patients with hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, positioning, and other individualized care needs.
• Perform hourly rounding, collect and document patient-care data, respond to call lights, and support a safe clinical environment.
• Monitor patients as a Safety Attendant/Telesitter, maintain continuous visual observation, and promptly notify the care team of assistance needs or hazards.
• Support unit operations, including calls, advance directives, electronic bed-board admissions, and EMR downtime readiness.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and listing on the Illinois CNA Registry, or successful completion of one nursing-student clinical rotation with written verification.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Ability to work full-time night shifts.
• Employment is based at the Lake Forest, Illinois location.
