What you will do

• Provide direct and advanced clinical care for patients with acute and chronic conditions within the specialty.
• Conduct health histories and advanced physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications, therapies, interventions, and procedures within clinical privileges and the PA scope of practice.
• Coordinate individualized care, discharge planning, and follow-up with patients, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Educate patients, families, staff, graduate students, and healthcare professionals while supporting clinical learning.
• Participate in research, clinical trials, evidence-based practice, quality initiatives, and outcome measurement.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program.
• Active Illinois Physician Assistant license and Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation compliance required.
• Adult Gerontology Acute Care certification required.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association required.
• ACLS certification, controlled substance license, and DEA registration required as specified by the department.
• Two years of clinical experience in the specialty is preferred.
