What you will do

• Research customer proposals, specifications, and manuals to assess design feasibility.
• Design mechanical and electromechanical products and robotic control systems using electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Create models, prototypes, and product designs, and participate in fabrication and installation activities.
• Coordinate machine operation, maintenance, and repair activities.
• Design interfaces between machines, hardware, and software.
• Evaluate field installations, recommend design modifications, and contribute to design reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 5–7 years of mechanical engineering and machine or product design experience.
• Proficiency with CAD and SolidWorks; experience with SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER, or CATIA.
• Experience with finite element analysis, hand stress calculations, GD&T, and documenting design reviews and requirements.
• Proficiency with MATLAB or Mathcad and familiarity with failure modes and effects analysis.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, software development, systems, heavy equipment, hydraulics, gearing, motors, and patent law.
