Patient Care Tech-CVT Stepdown 12G Full-time Days (Healthcare)

Location: 251 E. Huron, Chicago, IL, United States; onsite day shift

Salary: $24.26 per hour

What you will do

• Assist registered nurses with direct and indirect patient care in the CVT Stepdown 12G unit.
• Measure and document vital signs, intake and output, blood glucose, EKGs, cardiac monitoring, and oximetry.
• Collect specimens, perform phlebotomy, provide adult and newborn care, and assist with feeding, hygiene, mobility, and comfort measures.
• Support admissions, transfers, discharges, procedures, pre- and post-operative care, patient transport, and room readiness.
• Respond to call lights and emergencies, initiate basic life support, and promptly report changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, documentation, cleanliness, quality-control activities, and safe unit operations.

Requirements

• CNA certification or current enrollment in a School of Nursing with completed basic clinical rotations.
• CPR recognition from the American Heart Association, BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• High school diploma required.
• Unit-based recognition for capillary blood glucose monitoring and at least 90% on annual mandatory Health and Safety Training quizzes.
• Ability to work onsite in Chicago on a full-time day shift.
• Previous healthcare experience and an associate or bachelor’s degree are preferred.
