Clinical Care Technician, CCT (36 hrs/week) - Surgical ICU

Location: Onsite at Tufts Medical Center, United States. Schedule: 36 hours per week with rotating day/night shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Salary: $20.12–$25.15 per hour, based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do

• Assist registered nurses with direct patient care, activities of daily living, mobility, comfort measures, and patient safety.
• Collect, document, and communicate clinical data, specimens, and patient observations to the assigned nurse.
• Prepare rooms and equipment for admissions, transfers, discharges, procedures, and patient monitoring.
• Transport or accompany patients, provide sitter support, answer call lights, and perform hourly rounding.
• Perform 12-lead EKGs, connect monitoring equipment, prime medication-free intravenous tubing, and assist with wound care as directed.
• Clean and maintain equipment, manage supplies, prepare specimens for the laboratory, and report malfunctioning biomedical equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to read, write, and understand medical terminology and handle confidential material.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, computer, and documentation skills.
• Ability to provide age-appropriate patient care and perform physical duties including lifting 30–35 pounds, turning patients, standing, and walking for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) certification.
• Completion of nursing fundamentals in an accredited nursing program.
• One year of experience as a Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Assistant, Critical Care Technician, or Patient Care Technician.
• Acute care experience.
