Registered Nurse - PRN

Location: Wilmington, Delaware, with coverage at health centers in Selbyville and Millsboro, Delaware. As-needed coverage is scheduled Monday–Friday, with 9-hour days and hours ranging from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

What you will do

• Assess patient care needs, conduct nursing evaluations, and provide treatment within the scope of practice.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare practitioners on further evaluation and care.
• Perform and document medical tests, screenings, and treatments, including EKG, audiometry, spirometry, and vision testing.
• Administer medications and emergency care within the legal scope of practice.
• Maintain medical equipment, patient health records, infection-control standards, and a clean, safe care environment.
• Educate patients on health promotion and participate in follow-up care.

Requirements

• Certificate from an accredited nursing school or an associate degree in nursing is required; a BSN is preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice is required.
• Current Basic Life Support certification with hands-on training from AHA, ARC, or an equivalent provider is required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification may be required depending on the contract scope of services.
• At least three years of Registered Nurse experience in an emergency room, occupational health clinic, or ambulatory care clinic is required.
• Experience with phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and vaccine administration is required.

Nice to have

• BSN from a four-year college or university.
• Certification in Occupational Health Nursing, Emergency Nursing, or Case Management.
