TL;DR
Program Coordinator, The Office of Indigenous Strategic Initiatives (OISI) (Indigenous strategic programming): Planning, delivering, and evaluating programs and special projects supporting implementation of UBC's Indigenous Strategic Plan with an accent on research, committee coordination, stakeholder engagement, and Indigenous methodologies. Focus on facilitating consultations, developing program systems, analyzing requests, and managing complex relationships with Indigenous communities and partners.

Location: hirify.global Vancouver Campus, Vancouver, BC, Canada. The role may require flexible hours across multiple time zones and occasional travel.

Salary: $5,273.67–$7,576.83 CAD monthly.

What you will do

  • Plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate programs and special projects supporting implementation of the Indigenous Strategic Plan.
  • Manage OISI-led committees, develop timelines, track progress, and contribute to reports.
  • Conduct research and analysis on strategic programs, Indigenous methodologies, and related initiatives.
  • Plan and facilitate meetings, consultations, workshops, and engagements with stakeholders and the hirify.global community.
  • Develop documentation, systems, and request-triage processes to support effective program delivery.
  • Analyze requests and provide recommendations, next steps, and courses of action for programs and projects.

Requirements

  • University degree in a relevant discipline and at least two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with historical and contemporary Indigenous issues, particularly in post-secondary education.
  • Experience or education related to equity, diversity, decolonization, and/or inclusion policies and practices.
  • Strong program planning, facilitation, communication, research, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders in cross-cultural settings and manage a demanding workload.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, videoconferencing tools, and electronic survey applications.

  • Familiarity with the university community, policies, and systems.
  • Ability to maintain the connection between long-range vision and day-to-day functions.
