Patient Care Technician-Float Full-Time Days

Location: Onsite at hirify.global Kishwaukee Hospital and hirify.global Valley West Hospital; 1 Kish Hospital Dr., DeKalb, Illinois

Salary: $18.33–$24.75 per hour

What you will do

• Perform basic nursing care under RN supervision, including monitoring vital signs, measuring blood glucose, and recording intake and output.
• Assist patients with bathing, grooming, eating, and other activities of daily living.
• Report abnormal findings and changes in patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms and respond to telephone, intercom, and call-light requests.
• Coordinate with charge RNs, assistant managers, patient-care units, and related departments to support unit workflow.
• Validate admission, discharge, and census information as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One completed clinical rotation as a nursing student, or certification as a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician.
• Current CPR Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility, organization, multitasking, critical thinking, and effective prioritization in stressful situations.

Nice to have

• Phlebotomy experience.
• Graduation from an accredited Nursing Assistant program or phlebotomy course.
