TL;DR

Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js/distributed systems): Building and operating scalable backend and asynchronous data services for an enterprise content management platform with an accent on reliability, observability, data consistency, and global availability. Focus on designing distributed systems, optimizing cross-region performance, maintaining high-availability services, and solving complex infrastructure problems with Java, Scala, Node.js, cloud platforms, and Kubernetes.

Location: Warsaw, Poland; hybrid work with a minimum of 3 days per week in the assigned office, especially Tuesday through Thursday

What you will do

Build, operate, and evolve scalable backend, asynchronous data, and storage services.
Develop infrastructure supporting file uploads, downloads, synchronization, collaboration, and enterprise content workflows.
Improve service reliability, observability, scalability, data consistency, and cross-region performance.
Write maintainable code, create technical documentation and reusable engineering patterns, and contribute to engineering standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, share knowledge, and mentor engineers.
Participate in on-call rotations, maintain legacy codebases, and use AI tools for development, research, documentation, and bug triage.

Requirements

5+ years of software development experience with distributed systems.
Strong backend programming skills in Java or Scala.
Experience designing, building, and deploying high-quality software.
Experience building highly available and scalable systems at large scale.
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Proficient English and availability to work from the Warsaw office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

Experience with Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services.
Experience with WebSockets and real-time applications.
Experience contributing to cross-platform solutions.
